Where to buy patio set?
We waited too long to get a patio set last summer, and Sears was all sold out by the time we tried to order (even though their website still let me place the order! 
and then sent an e-mail 2 days later saying it wasn't available). Anyway, we'd really like to get one this year. Any recs for places to shop? Our price range is about $300-500.

Have you looked on Craiglist? I don't know if you are completely against used patio furniture, but it's worth a shot if you're ok with it.
