Help a Visiting Nestie ??
DH & I are planning a vacation to Chicago in April.
I'm looking for affordable hotels, hopefully within walking distance to plenty to do.
Problem is most of the travel sites want you to specify what area you want, and I have no idea.
My choices are: Magnificent Mile Area, North Michigan Avenue Area, or Chicago Loop area.
Which would you recommend?
Any other suggestions are welcome.

for best location, i would recommend any of the hotels on Wacker Dr. You are on the river and within walking distance to both the Mag Mile and downtown (loop, millineum/grant park, pier, theatre district...
as far as affordable though, i know these hotels aren't cheap, but may very well be in your price range.
