Good Wisconsin themed gifts??

I"m going to a family friend's mountain home in Montana the week after next. I'd like to give a gift to them for hosting us for 4 nights and I'm trying to think of something from wisconsin that they'd love. I wish I could bring cheese, but not sure how I'd get it there since we're flying. What else could I give that'd be easy to transport, and is still thoughtful?

Re: Good Wisconsin themed gifts??

  • Are you worried about the weight? Cheese should be fine, it can last quite a while at room temp (just don't get an unpasteurized soft cheese) and the cargo areas of planes are pretty cold anyway.

I'd recommend beer, but that would be a lot harder to transport than cheese.

How about some Baraboo candy? Nothing like a good cow pie.

  • Try http://www.wisconsinmade.com/ for some ideas. I would think cheese or sausage would be the easiest to transport as opposed to wine/beer/chocolate.

    Here are some additional ideas:

    • Wine (Wollersheim, Cedar Creek, Door Peninsula, etc)
    • Microbrew Beer (New Glarus, Gray's, etc)
    • Sausage/Cheese/Candy from Wisconsin Cheeseman
    • Anything with cherries in it
    • Blumer's or Sprecher's Soda
    • Cow Pies
