Remodeling Update

Well, we were off to a rip-roaring start. We did some inital plastering on Wed night after work. Then Thursday morning we got up and started demo-ing the kitchen cabinets. The top ones came down pretty easy and we were working on the lower ones when I was pulling on a section and it came apart (The good news!) but it was joined by these flat razor like things and 2 of them sliced thru my hand (The BAD news!) in 2 long cuts and I had to go to the ER and get 15 stitches! UGH! It never really hurt that bad and thankfully no nerve damage. But they were scary movie deep and these are my first stitches in my life that weren't due to a surgery! So I wait until middle age to decide to start getting banged up! ha ha!

Oh and I have to tell ya that I made them give me a sticker for being so brave when I got my stitches! ha ha!

Anyway, in spite of my accident, we finished texturing the hallway and living room. Sandy finished the cabinet demo and the wall removal (she banned me from any further demo efforts as you might imagine!!) and we painted our one accent wall in the beautiful purple color we had picked out! Oh it looks SO SO SO great! So when we go home again this coming weekend, we plan to paint the other walls the lovely light gray and prime the cabinets we ARE keeping in the kitchen.

Fun fun fun!
