Where do you find travel info?
Where do you find all your travel/booking/information stuff for traveling?? Like researching places and figuring out everything you need to travel to certain places. I'd really like to do some traveling, yet all the information seems overwhelming. I've thought about talking to a travel agent about some places but didn't want to be "pushed/persuaded" to do this or that.
Re: Where do you find travel info?
I love traveling! Usually I already have an idea of where I want to go. Then I try to find out info about what there is to do, must sees, good places/areas to stay, hints and tips, etc.

^That's a link to information on how to get a passport if you've never had one.

^This one is a link to a website I've found very helpful. People post trip reports, pictures, hints and tips of traveling in that particular country, etc. It's a good resource written by actual travelers.
Also check out http://www.tripadvisor.com and http://www.frommers.com/ for forums and travel advice.
Did you already have a place in mind? Hope these help!
I like to start on Expedia. Look up flight and hotel costs for a date, then go to Tripadvisor and read the hotel reviews. I also love that Tripadvisor ranks attractions/things to do in cities. I booked my whale watching trip in CA because of Tripadvisor reviews.
I also Google a lot. For our trip to California I googled "Pacific Coast Highway". Half-way down the page was an article from budget travel with an itinerary. Then, I worte down every town they went through and googled each one. I also checked the Tripadvisor hotel rates and things to do. I will also request brochures from different websites or I sign up for the e-mail list.
DH always buys a Frommer's Guide for wherever we decide to go. He also checks out travel books from the library.
Ditto Trip advisor and googling. You can often find forums dedicated to exactly where you are staying. Trip Advisor and http://www.venere.com/ were heaven sent for us when we went to Italy.
If you find somewhere you want to stay, you can call the staff there and they will have some suggestions on things to do in the area.
I am late on this but I also check Expedia for prices and reviews. Then I also check Tripadvisor. The travel boards on here are pretty good too. On MSN I search the desired destination.
Good Luck
