No baby yet

Just going to update ya'll.

At my 38 week appt last Friday there was no change.  Little miss Ava just isn't ready yet.  I on the other hand am :)

A quick question for those of you with kids.....did the pediatrician see your baby in the hospital when they were first born?

Re: No baby yet

  • a pedi saw her but not hers. I did not def pick one until after she was born.
  • Hey Nicole wow I can't believe you are about to have the baby :)

Go ask this on the Alabama baby board.  They'll answer you over there :)

I know that I am supposed to pick our pedi by the 6th month of my pregnancy, and yeah they do check the baby at the hospital.  If you haven't picked one out then I think they have one that will look at the baby before you leave.  Not sure about that one though.

  • Yay!  You are so close now.

Yes, the pedi saw both my babies everyday that we were in the hospital.

  • You're almost there!!!! Just butting in....

  • Mine did but that was long ago.
  • Butting in.... I don't have kids but have done some shifts in L&D.  A pedi has to see your baby before you leave the hospital.  It is better if it is the pedi you will use (although a lot of them don't practice in the hospital) just so they already know what all was done in the hospital to baby and mama once routine checkups start. Most hospitals won't (and shouldn't) release the baby until the pedi clears them.

SO close.....  I hope these last few weeks fly by!!

  • I can't answer your question, but I just wanted to say good luck!  Not too much longer!
    Siggy coming soon....
  • Ours did not b/c she does not round at the hospital where I delivered, so we went the first week after birth for a visit. A pedi saw here who is located within the hospital buildings. Good Luck! Keep us posted!!
  • not too much longer!! ?good luck!!

?our pedi was not in town when Hannah was born but another doctor from their office was there to see her. ?:)

  • Hi!  No pedi advice but just wanted to wish you well and good luck!  :-)
  • Our pedi was on vacation while she was born so the on-call pedi checked on her every day.

  • Not much longer. The pediatrician on duty from the practice A goes to came the morning we left. I don't think we saw her reg. pedi until her check up two days later. I honestly don't remember if one saw her the day or day after she was born... it's all a bit hazy.
