XP from TTTC - Laproscopy yesterday

Well I guess it is a good thing we decided to do the lap. I haven't talked to the doc yet because he had a delivery. He talked to my mom and DH though. My right ovary had a ruptured cyst that was bleeding, and another cyst that had to be removed on it. I had a uterine fibroid removed. My left ovary had an adhesion removed that had attached it to my uterus. They also removed some tissue and it is in pathology and should have the results back on it to verify that it is endo at my follow up next week. I amazed my husband with how well I am doing. We went in at 7:30, surgery at 9:30, recovery at 10:30, and I was at home by 12:30. I had a little dizziness when I was standing for too long, but that has gone away now. I took a pain pill about an hour ago the first of the day. I'm starting to get a little sore, but I've only slept about 2 hours total since getting home. Now I just have to see how this works and hope that this was my answer to helping get pregnant. The doc told my mom that I made him work for his money today though. Now I just wish that I had done this earlier. Thank you all for the endless support that I've received from everyone in the last year. I love you girls!  (this was posted yesterday and I barely slept last night because of the pain.  That is why I am posting at 5am!)

Re: XP from TTTC - Laproscopy yesterday

  • I'm sorry you were up with so much pain last night. I hope you can get some sleep today and that getting rid of all those cysts and adhesions helps with TTC.

I had a lap for my endo last January. There were a couple of periods in the first few days where the pain was really bad. I ended up keeping a log of my meds (since I was too out of it to remember when I took what, and I had a couple different people helping take care of me) and taking meds as often as they were scheduled for the first few days (which is probably what you're already doing). For the first 2 weeks, I also remember sleeping and lounging with two or three pillows stacked up, plus a moon-shaped neck pillow. It was a lot more comfortable than trying to lie flat. I think I also used a heating pad on low occasionally.

Hope you have a smooth and speedy rest of your recovery!

However, you're freaking me out here, as mine is scheduled May 2nd! Speedy recovery to you - please check in with us and let us know how the recovery goes - I'd like to know how long I'll be out of commission for!
