So...I get to pick a restaurant for my family to eat at next weekend and I am drawing a complete blank. What are your favorite restaurants? I'd like to stay on the Missouri side and no seafood! Thanks!
Re: Favorite Restaurants?
Seriously, I like On The Border, Maggie's Cantina (on N Oak by Sun Fresh) and Smokebox!

I like to try new restaurants. DH and I went to Gordon Biersch (at the Power & Light district) on Friday night. It was pretty good and the service was good. The have several beers that they brew on-site. I am not much of a beer drinker, but I had a few and it was pretty good. You should definitely check out the P&L District's web site to see what else they have. Their site is powerandlightdistrict.com.
We also like to eat at Hereford House (at least 2 locations on the MO side) for steaks, Jack Stack (down by Union Station or in Martin City) for bbq, and Red Snapper (by Ward Pkwy Mall) for excellent Thai.
Go to the Crossroads District downtown, and there are a ton of great restaurants. My absolute favorite is La Bodega (a Spanish tapas place with the BEST mojitos).
1924 Main is also a great place (kind of eclectic - they have a bit of everything), and Lidia's - the BEST authentic northern Italian food. Sooooo goood. I know the Crossroads district also has a website - you may google it to find other restaurants as well.
Oooh, there is a restaurant downtown at something like 11th and Main called Azul that is yummy. I've only been there once - it's a Latin bistro - but I definitely remember their margarita cheesecake with tequila whipped cream on the side. Holy. cow.
Also, if you want to do something a bit more spendy, Skies at the Hyatt Crown Center is excellent - or even if you just want to go sit and have drinks in their lounge, it has the best views of the city. There is also the Peppercorn Duck Club at the Hyatt Crown Center as well - very spendy, but they have the ultra chocolatta bar that is a-maz-ing. All you can eat chocolate and other decadant desserts. YUM!
Oh - just thought of one more on the Plaza - The Classic Cup. I'm all about doing local places over chain restaurants anyday, and I think all of the above are local eateries.
