Wow...vent!

So I just posted a question on the Getting Pregnant board.  It was a simple question asking if anyone dealt with a low thyroid.  And I must say the response was anything but kind.  Not sure what I expected, but not that!

Re: Wow...vent!

  • I'm sorry they were unkind. I look on BOTB and GP occasionally, but a lot of the responses do seem pretty mean. :( That totally sucks when you're just trying to find a simple answer.

  • I've lurked on some of the pregnancy boards before and found them to be pretty much worthless and full of a lot of paranoids. If you're comfortable with any other board then that's probably where you'll get the best answers. Good luck!
  • I know, they can be awful on some of those boards. The whole point is for people to come ask questions and get feedback. Frankly, they scare me. I will go on there to read other peoples posts and see if that can answer my questions, but I don't think I will ever post on there.

  • I am sorry you got a horrible response.  If it is easier for you I have hypothyroidism.  I have a lot of info about thyroid disease in general and more info about TTC than I would really like to have in my head.  If you have any questions I am more than willing to help if I can.  You can page me here or email me if you would like at stephyleeann at hotmail dot com.  Some of the baby boards have some cliques that make it hard.  If you want a decent response you may want to try TTTC.  Just make sure that you start by telling them that you aren't having problems just have some questions.  The women on there (a few from KC including me) are amazing and have a lot of information that they are always willing to share.
  • In general, avoid the GP and BOTB boards. They wouldn't be bad except people get used to "Can I eat ____ while pregnant?" and "Can I do ____ on my 2ww?" type questions.
