Branson?

My college housemates & I are heading down to Branson for a short weekend in mid-April. We're all getting in at various times on Saturday, so we'll probably go out to dinner that night and then wander around Branson on Sunday. We already have a place to stay, but would love recs for good places to eat, tacky neon signs to get our picture taken in front of, tourist traps to visit, etc. :)

I was just there last week! You should go to the Branson Landing (east on 76- the main drag) www.bransonlanding.com. It is a new shopping & restaurant area on the water. For "tacky" just go the other way (west on 76) and you'll be sure to pass Dixie Stampede, The Baldknobbers, etc, etc!!

My parents ate at White River Fish House at Branson Landing and liked it. We ate at Lambert's. Can't go wrong with some throwed rolls!

  • I was just there too and the Landing area is a lot of fun. The shopping there isn't the best (in my opinion) but the restaurants and bars are great. There's a fun Irish pub and a piano bar. There's also a really good Mexican place right in front of the fountains.

Just a warning: the traffic on the main strip of Branson is brutal. Try to figure out the alternate routes (red route, blue route, etc).

  • We were just there too!

We really enjoyed Branson Landing and the piano bar there. We also liked the Titanic exhibit - DH is a history buff so we always do those kinds of things, but this one was well worth it.

  • I was just there over the weekend.  We did the Titanic exhibit and really liked it.  We also went to the Branson Landing which we really enjoyed.  It was a girls weekend so we did a lot of shopping.  The traffic was awful but I am sure it was mainly because of Spring break.  Have fun!

  • I liked down town branson (the old  part) They have an old 5 and Dime, cute little candy shops, and two great homestyle dinners that are great for breakfast or lunch.
  • Good post! I'm heading down there in April too. :)
  • There's this place on the strip that has go-carts that you just HAVE to go ride. It is so much fun. We went for a girls' weekend with all my female relatives before my cousin went to basic training and it was a blast. We had the most fun go-carting, we did it twice at two different courses!
