Pet Boarding

Anyone have any good recommendations on where we could board our two pups for the weekend? Previously we just boarded at our local vet but since it will be more than one day I'd prefer something where they had a run or something and could be kenneled together. We're in the Leavenworth area so would prefer something further north but are open to any options. And if you know the general price range that would be great too! Thanks!

Re: Pet Boarding

  • We've used the Pete and Macs in the Northland twice and have had good experience with them.  I think it is about $20 a day depending on the size run your dog needs and that includes 2 30-minute playtimes per day.  You can also pay an extra $12 per day for them to participate in day care with the other dogs - we were gone a week awhile back and I had my dog do the daycare thing 3x (every other day) and it worked well for us.

  • We have cats - so usually we just put down a lot of food - so I can't help with personal experience, but I can tell you that several of my friends take theirs to the Pet Hotel at PetSmart, and they've always been okay with the treatment their pets get there. I can't remember prices, but I do know that somewhere on the net you can usually dig up a coupon or two for a free nights stay.

  • Hey there!  I live in Lansing and we've used Deb's Riverview Kennel in Leav. twice now.  They have indoor/outdoor runs and for an extra fee your dog could do doggie daycare.  Deb is really nice and it's affordable (I think around $12/day for basic).  My dh's coworker didn't have really good things to say about her dog's stay there and they board in Tongie or Basehor now.  Like I said, though, it worked out nicely for us!
  • we've always had great luck with pete & macs and i'm very particular about who cares for my dogs!  :)

and honestly, considering the overall facility, service and options available, they are some of the more reasonably priced in the kc area.
