Re: Gardening
I've never planted a garden but I would like too. Unfortunately, the "dirt patch" that we have outside our apartment really isn't sufficient enough.
My grandparents always had a vegetable garden and fig trees in their yard and it was awesome. I want to do that someday when I have my own house.
Good luck with your seedlings, Gia! Spring will be here soon.
Sorry about the multiple posts.. don't know what happened there.
Anyway, Gia, that is such a nice tradition. I hope you get your fig tree this summer. I wish I had one!
I'm jealous of all your fig trees! My grandma's fig trees were in her yard when she lived in Queens so I can't get one from her.
Are they hard to take care of? I know my grandparents always had them covered in the winter with a bucket on top. I always remember being intrigued by that as a kid.
they are pretty easy to take care of. you have to wrap them in the winter so the dont get frost in them. the bucket is to prevent water from seaping into the top of the blanket. its like a big sweater for a tree lol
Thanks for explaining. I guess it just looks more complicated than it actually is. The trees just always looked so weird when they were covered in the winter.
