SD Travel Advice Needed

My husband and I are going to San Diego for two nights in May, and have never been there before. Does anyone have any advice about what part to stay in? Thanks!

Re: SD Travel Advice Needed

  • If you can afford to I recommend anywhere along the beach or downtown.  Mission Valley is a little bit cheaper, but its still pretty central to everything. Enjoy your trip!
  • A bit pricey, but I would recommend the La Jolla Shores hotel.  My friends just stayed there for a week and loved it. San Diego doesn't have many oceanfront hotels and this is one of the few that are truly on the beach.

  • If you are only going to be here two nights and want to see San Diego then I'd stay downtown. A hotel with a view of the water or city would be gorgeous. Try the Manchester Grand Hyatt or Marriott next door. Both are very nice and in walking distance to public transportation, tourist sites, etc. If you want hotel without the water view, but nice they try Westgate, US Grant, Westin Horton Plaza. A cute, boutique style is the Horton Grand (fireplaces, older, open inner courtyard). There are many more, this is just a few I could think of. Have a good time.
