Teachers- Praxis

Hey Teachers-
I currently have my certificate, but am interested in adding Early Childhood. From what I have found on DESE, I would just need to take (and pass!) the praxis in the ECE area without having to take any classes.

Does anyone have any experience adding certifications to your license and know if that is correct? Anyone taken the ECE praxis?

My degree is ECE and that is also what I have my license in. I didnt take the Praxis until about 5 months after I had graduated and almost a year since I was actually in the classroom learning everything. It was so hard for me to work up the motivation to study for the test, so to be honest, I mostly just looked a practice test over and reviewd a little. I was nervous going into the test knowing I didnt study like I should have, but the test was easier then I expected. I passed the first try which I was very excited and surprised about.

I am not sure, I thought you had to have the completed course work and recommendation from the college you attended but maybe I am wrong? I would be interested to know, because I have been thinking about adding EC to my license as well. After I finish will ELL, anyhow )
