First Book Club Meeting: February 19th and 20th

The 19th in person and the 20th on here! YEAH! I am going to start the book this weekend!

Where do we want to have the first in person meeting? I am not sure what is central to everyone!

I accidentally already finished it. I was trying to take my time, read about a chapter a night, but it was so good, I just kept reading...I'm going to buy the sequel tonight! I need to know what happens...

Oh, I started out that post meaning to say that I won't be meeting in person, but I'll be on the 20th! Are we just going to do kind of an all day online discussion thing?

I won't be able to be there in person either, but I'll be discussing online.

haha... I have been having troubles putting the book down as well. I would be able to meet up on the 19th and location doesn't really matter. I am in Lees Summit as you know, but wherever is fine. I work until 5:30 usually.

Right now I am in the process of switching jobs so I don't think I'm going to have time to read it this month - definitely count me in for March though!

Melissa-sounds like it might just be us?!

One option is to have this months discussion be online only, to get the ball rolling. Or the few that can meet can meet up.

I am the worst with directions (even though I have lived in KC my whole life!) so I really don't know what is central to everyone, so if we want to meet, start throwing out some central locations!

my friend and i are interesting in actually doing the meeting on the 19th since its kinda hard for both of us to get online.  we live in overland park.  have we decided on a central place yet?  we're good with wherever, i do work until 6 though.

I've got the night free and would be able to meet in person as well. I'm available after 5:30. I live in Lee's Summit, but work around Overland Park, so I'm good with either area or somewhere in between.

I am throwing two suggestions out and two time options:

Some where at The Legends at the Speedway
B&N at Zona Rosa

6:30pm or 7:30pm

I know the time is going to depend on the location but just thought I would throw it out for some discussion.

I am up for any other suggestions on locations as well!

we could do legends at 7 or so.  theres got to be a place that we could all get coffee/small dinner that we could get together and be able to talk without yelling over other people.  maybe the panera there?

It sounds like most people will be coming from the OP/Lee's Summit area - maybe we could find something more in that area for this time and save Zona Rosa for a month when more of the Northlanders can come?

Some other possibilities:
-Town Center Plaza (119th between Roe & Nall) has a Panera and I think a Dean & Deluca coffee shop (I haven't been to D&D, but it looks decently sized)
-Panera or B&N on the Plaza
-Jason's Deli or Borders @ the 470-Summit Woods exit (which would be kind of in between  OP, LS & Belton)
-several places along Metcalf (inc. Borders near 120th)

I think that driving around the city for my job has caused way too many brain cells to be taken over by locations of restaurants and libraries

I also agree that the ledgends and zona would be a bit far for many. Both would take me around 45 minutes to get there and I probably wouldnt make it then since I wouldnt get out there until late and then I wouldnt get home until pretty late. Hopefully something more centrally located is an option.

If we have the meeting near LS or OP, I may have to miss this in person meeting. That's about a 40+ minute one way drive for me.

I say we set it up for what works best for the majority, which sounds like LS or OP.
