Opinions please...

So Sandy just told me that her cousin, who is a teacher at the same school that her little nephew attends, called her to say that the school called the boy's mom (Sandy's sister) to come up there because the teacher found a huge bruise with a bite mark in it on the child.

She then went on to swear Sandy to complete secrecy due to "confidentiality" reasons but that the scoop was, the boy told the counselor that his mom (Sandy's sister) bit him.

Sandy's sister is an idiot but I don't see her as an abusive person. However, I am also really up in arms because her cousin even called and disclosed this information!!! I KNOW they are all family but still...if this got out, her cousin would be fired I'm sure. Yet she nonchalantly decided to call Sandy and blab the whole thing. Sandy should NOT be stuck in the middle of this. I'm sure child services will do an investigation. But if it's not true and yet her sister's rep is COMPLETELY smeared, how much of a tattling schmuck is her cousin THEN?!?!

I was just floored by both items..the bite and the tattling...

Opinions ladies??

Re: Opinions please...

  • oy, thats a mess. the teacher was 100% wrong to disclose that information to anyone - even family. and i pray that no mom would actually bite her child, thats just beyond words.
  • well what I am hoping is if she DID bite him, it's not the "HUGE" thing that the cousin made it out to be. She does exaggerate. When my boy ws much younger, he got into this biting phase. One day he came up to me and bit my lower tummy very, very hard. So I bit him back. Not TOO hard, but enough to hurt his feelings and he stopped all that biting nonsense.

Sorry ladies if you think I'm a bad mom now...but it worked and he's a great kid today!

As for her sister biting the boy...I just don't know. I really hope not. However...here's another nugget to chew over...a couple of years ago her hubby beat the boy so badly that he was all bruised up and grandma found the bruises. And once it was all out that he did it, the sister STILL STAYED with him!!! I just don't understand.

Anyway, I guess time will tell how this works out.....poor kid....

  • I have A LOT of opinions about A LOT that I just read, but I am going to keep them to myself :) I do, however, want to let you know that I am here if you need to vent! I want to apologize and I really hope this all gets straightend out. Especially for that baby....it really is unfair for him to be stuck in the middle of all this :( He's old enough to know SOMETHING different is going on, you know? Good luck to your family! Again, I'm here if you need to talk :)
