Any summer job ideas???

I've been trying to look for a summer job.  The one job I was excited about - I didn't get.  So, it's back to square one!!  Give me ideas!!

What kinds of stuff are you looking for? I'd love to work at Pottery Barn or William & Sonoma. They get a 40% discount!!! The other place I'd work is Origins, because I love their products so much. I think that after 2 years of product hopping I'm just going to have to suck it up and pay more money for their makeup. A cute stationery store like Moon Mippy or You're Invited would be really fun too!

I'd really like to stick with working with children.  I'm not all that excited about retail - never really liked it.  But if it is just a summer thing - I could handle retail.

Teach swim lessons!!! I used to make a fortune teaching swim lessons and it was so much fun. I've sorta debated doing it this summer... BUT, you need to know what you're doing

Have you ever heard of National Board for Professional Teachers?  I work for them in the summer and score portfolios.  If you are certified, you may be able to work for them.  You work like 3 weeks, all day and they pay very well.

Kate, try Sylvan Learning Center.  My brother is a high school math teacher and worked there one summer tutoring kids.  He said it was really nice, because he was really able to pick and choose his days.  Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks everyone!!!  The summer camp actually called and offered me the director position!  I just hope they are ok with my vacation planned for the middle of the summer! I will keep my mind open to your other ideas if the camp director thing doesn't work out.

I didn't realize you just wanted kid/education related things. Along the sylvan lines - I know someone who works for Kumon and she really likes it.
