Anyone looking for a cat?
Yesterday we found a beatiful cat roaming around our apartment building. It doesn't seem to belong to anyone but it clearly is not a feral cat. We brought it in last night beacuse it was supposed to rain and he seemed lost. Our two cats are going a little crazy with him here. He is such a nice cat-extremely social and sweet. It is obvious to us that he has been in a home before. He doesn't even seem scared of our other cats. He sleeps all day long and is extremely loving. We wanted to bring him to the Humane Society today but we couldn't get an appointment to drop him off. We're going to keep him until we can get an appointment next week.
If anyone is looking to adopt a cat please let me know. We would love to keep him but we already have 2 adopted cats and we live in a small apartment. There just isn't enough room here for 3 cats. He is a great cat and would make an excellent addition to any home. We believe he is male and maybe about 2-3 years old.
Thanks!
Re: Anyone looking for a cat?
Yes, please put up some signs in your complex/neighborhood, as well as notify the local animal control/SPCA/vets of the cat you've found in case someone is looking for him. Post a found ad on Craigslist too.
What if the owners are out of town or indisposed and don't know he's missing? What if they are looking for him, just not in your complex? Please don't assume that just becaue you found him out wandering that he isn't loved or missed, or take it upon yourself to decide that the owners aren't worthy. I would be heartbroken if my kitty got out and someone assumed I was a bad owner and thus didn't deserve him for it.
I based my response on this - I can only imagine if I was out of town for a few days and didn't know my kitty was missing and thus someone assumed he was unloved. Thats all I'm saying.
Kudos to you for taking him in and I hope he is reunited with his family soon!
