Atlanta nestie visiting Chattanooga...

Hey Ladies,

?DH and I will be in Chattanooga this weekend for a continued celebration of our 1st anniversary. We will be staying at the Stonefort Inn. I haven't been to Chattanooga since field trips in middle school so I have no idea what we should do and where we should eat.

?Does anyone have?recommendations for?restaurants?near where we are staying???Also is the aquariam, ruby falls, etc still the places to go or are there some other spots we should check out?

Thank you!!!?

Re: Atlanta nestie visiting Chattanooga...

  • I've stayed at Stone Fort Inn...you'll love it.

The aquariam is really great (although I heard the penguins are gone now...boooo) and I recommend Lupi's Pizza, which is nearby, for a casual lunch or dinner.

Ruby Falls and Rock City are kitschy, but fun.

ETA: You DO NOT want to do Ruby Falls if you are claustrophobic.

  • My husband's family lives in Chatty, and I still visit the aquarium like every other trip there because I love it so much ;)

I would second Lupi's - H always insists on going when we're in town. 212 Market is great for a special meal - they have a huge wine list if you're into that, and Mudpie is a fun place for a more casual meal - not sure if they have dinner, as I've only been for lunch. For live music and good beer, Rhythm & Blues is a really fun bar.

One of my favorite areas is the Bluff View Art District - I would definitely suggest going to Rembrandt's for coffee/breakfast and then wandering around if it's a nice day.

  • I grew up in Chattanooga, and all of my family is still there. They have done a lot of rejuvenation to the downtown area. The riverfront is gorgeous now. Definitely take some time to take a stroll there & just relax. I would skip Ruby Falls...very over-rated! Rock City is fun, and Lover's Leap has an amazing view!

The Tennessee Aquarium is a really nice place to go, and they recently added a salt water exhibit. If you have never been, you should go! Just up the hill (walking distance) from the aquarium is the Walnut Street Bridge. It's a pedestrian bridge. It is such a nice place to go for a stroll! Just across the bridge is Frazier Avenue. Coolidge Park is over there & it is so nice...there are fountains & a carousel. You can go to the Mudpie Coffee shop or Clumpies ice cream.

Hennen's is a great place to eat. I also recommend St. John's. The art district is very nice. There is a sculpture garden there, and Tony's & Rembrandt's are over there. You could also check out the Hunter Art Museum.

There are some fun little bars located downtown. It's a fun city with tons of variety! Have fun!  OK....now all of this is making me miss Chattanooga!
