I have strep throat...
So I've had a cold with a sore throat for a few days and today I wake up and I can hardly swallow!! So I get in to see my doc and she tells me I have strep throat. Yuck! I thought only kids got this stuff??

Hope you feel better soon...I know the cold/flu stuff has been going around and work and DH started feeling crappy yesterday. I just hope I don't get it too!
Hot Tea with honey really helps soothe a sore throat.
I can't imagine getting this every year! I think I may have had it once as a kid. It's just icky. My doc told me to gargle with a saline solution with vinegar in it... I'm all about the salt water gargle, but has anyone ever tried adding vinegar? it sounds sooooooo disgusting to me I can barely stomach the thought!
Thanks for the well wishes. The only up side is that I am NOT allowed to work until I have antibiotics for at least 48 hours so I will not allow myself to feel bad for calling off (I'm a nurse, we just don't call in sick! it is a sign of weakness!!!) and I am going to sleep, aLOT.
Ugh I hope by now you are feeling better. I get you on the whole not calling off thing...at my job I'm half the opening staff every day at 5:15 AM so I don't ever get to call in sick.
I used to get strep every year as a kid until one year I had it 4 or 5 times and they said one more time that year and I would be getting my tonsils out. After that I never had it again.
