So...cabbage was on sale.
I bought a head. What the heck do I do with it? Any good recipe ideas?
Re: So...cabbage was on sale.
shred it for tacos.
steam it for st patty's day...not my fav way to eat it though.
ummmm, that's all I've got.
Oriental Cabbage Salad:
1/2 head of cabbage
3 scallions
2 tablespoons dark sesame oil
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegare
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
Combine the cabbage (I dice it), scallions, oil, and vinegar. Toss well and chill. Add the sesame seeds and toss again before serving.
I always just steam it and slather on a ton of butter, salt and pepper but some people find that boring.
You could make coleslaw.?
Stuffed cabbage....yum...I need to ask my mom for her recipe, haven't had that in forever!!l
If it's red cabbage I always make Northwood's Inn coleslaw.
If it's green I make a coleslaw my mom makes. She shreds it, just grates a little onion, adds enough mayonaise and balsamic vinegar to coat.
That salad that Irma posted looks good. I've only used cabbage steamed with corned beef and cabbage.
It's really good. I think I also added some salt to it last time. It's really quick and easy to make. Perfect for someone like me, who hates to cook.
That's how I usually make it Robyn, but we are trying to lose weight. I think that recipe would be counter productive.
Yeah, that does sound really good Irma. Thank you!
And I do imagine it's on sale for st. patty's day.
