**Sam**

Yesterday I called to set up our first appointment w/ the midwives and we chatted a bit about the logistics of being from CT (which they were perfectly fine with, we just realize we'll have to be really flexible in our schedule) and the woman warned us that if we got a + opk on the weekend, we'd need to be in the car on our way up before calling them at 9am just in case the on-call was only available at 10 or 11.  At the time i thought that plan was fine....but now that i'm thinking about it, you didn't insem on the same day at your positive, right? am i missing something?

also - did you go to the AI info session? they were pushing it but i dont want to make an extra trip up during the week if its info we already have...

Re: **Sam**

  • We did go to the AI info session. It was really quick but it did give us some info and gave us a chance to answer questions ect.

As for the weekend.  You speak with the on call person in the am.  So say you get a +opk on friday morning.  You would call Sat morning at 8 or 9 and page them.  They call back and set up the time for that day.  If you got a +opk on Sat you would do the same thing on Sunday am. The midwfes were very flexiable and so nice.  I wouldn't worry about it too much.  I guess you could always leave early and if you get to Arlington early have breakfast (there is a place with great muffins right around the corner).  I am sure we would all meet you for a pre iui nosh!  I think it would be fine.  They do like to have the iuis around 10 on the weekends but our first one was at 9 so that we could make a family obligation.  We brought coffee and the midwife was totally cool with it.  I think they like to try and get them done all together so not to have to be there all day for 3 appointments.  Hope this helps I can't wait for you guys to start!

  • gotcha, thanks for clarifying :)  i cant wait to start either!!!
