any infertility issues

any one in Tucson dealing with pcos or infertility?

Re: any infertility issues

  • I know there are a handful. I'm one of them but so far I'm unexplained.
  • I'm pregnant with identical twin boys after a battle with PCOS :)
  • Twin boys!!  CONGRATS!!   Which RE did you go to....if any I guess.

Jen - are you seeing an RE?

  • There are only 2 REs in town, and I've seen them both. I started out at Dr Gelety's office, and I really, really didn't like him. I moved over to Dr Hutchison's office, and I really think he's great. Dr Gelety is a bit of a creepoid, while Dr Hutchison has a fantastic bedside manner, and he really takes time to answer questions.
  • I too was diagnosed with PCOS in June of 2006.  I originally went to Dr. Gelety- but felt that he was not treating my condition, but rather just throwing more medication and procedures at me.  I then switched to D. Hutchinson(whom I highly recommmend) who really forcused in on the underlying factors. Ironically, I then got pregnant in the interim while waiting for an HSG(that Dr. Gelety never mentioned.)_  I am now TTC#2 and trying to figure out if I am going to go to just my OBGYN for a while or immediately back to Dr. Hutchinson.  Good luck with whatever you decide and please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • Im so confused now.  on here no one seems to like Gelety (thats who I am going to) but then a bunch of people that I talked to in person say they prefer Gelety.  I dont know what to do.  I guess just give him a chance....how lond did you guys see him before switching?
  • I was with Dr. Gelety for approximately 6 months before switching to Dr. Hutchinson.  Also, my husband went to an appointment with me at Dr. Gelety's and felt the hustle and bustle, and thought that  Dr. Hutchinson really sat down and took time with each individual couple.  Another nice thing, is that when we went to Dr. Hutchinson, we were the only ones, however, at Dr. Gelety's there were never fewer than 10 people in the lobby.   But, on a positive note, one of our friends just completed IVF, and is pregnant with boy/girl twins.  Best of luck, and lots of baby dust to you!
  • Sorry for the delayed response...I always forget to check this board!

I'll be seeing Dr. Hutchison tomorrow. I've heard really great things about him from multiple people. I'm looking forward to finally making some progress in this journey!
  • Technically, I think that both doctors are good at their jobs. But I really just don't like Dr Gelety's personality, and his office staff is downright horrible (rude, rude, rude!). Like the previous poster, I felt like Dr Gelety was pumping me full of drugs instead of treating my underlying condition (PCOS). He also didn't do a SA on my H, and Dr Hutchison found right away that we had a MF issue in addition to my PCOS.

  • wow, all of your issues with Gelety are amazing me.  He did SA and ovarie sonogram first thing.  Gave me provera to induce period and is doing HSG next...then meds....interesting.  I wonder why the differences. I like him, very personable and talks till you understand.

  • I am currently with Dr H and I think he and his staff are just wonderful.  He came highly recommended from my OB and also a good friend of DH's who is also an OB.
