Moving to CA and need major advice

My DH and I are moving to California from Central Florida. We are moving because there are no longer any work opportunities for him in his feild here. He is an animator. He got a job with a company in North of San Francisco in Novato. I am going to stay back here for a few months while we get the house on the market and I get things squared away with my job etc.

OK so I am going to lay out our financial situation since I really need to know if we are going to be able to make it there. I know I probably shouldn't offer all this up on a internet board but here it goes.

He is going to be making $95,000. I am most likely going to be taking the job I have now and doing it virtually but it is only making Florida money of $60,000. So that is a total of $155,000 in income.

We are going to attempt to sell our house. It is in a very desirable trendy neighborhood in downtown Orlando so we are already paying about twice what the average home price in the area is. We bought it for $445,000 two and half years ago and we are hoping to sell it for $499,00 (we had it up on the market about 8 months ago and received an offer for $525,000 but decided to not sell at the time. Believe me we are kicking ourselves right now).

So if we do get what we are asking for the house after closing cost and fees we will be walking away with around $120,000 (made $100,000 profit from sale of first home).

So my question is with $120,000 to put down and a salary of $155,000 could we possibly afford to live in this area.

TIA
