How many children do you want to have, and why? Does you DH agree with you??

Originally I wanted at least 4. I came from a family of 5 so I really like the idea of my kids growing up in a bigger family. DH really only wants 2. He can from 2 and thinks that a good amount. We haven't really decided but I hope we'll comprimise and wind up with 3!

i wanted two. DH wanted one. he had no desire whatsoever for more than one kid.

I would like to have three, but we will probably have two. We discussed it and we would like to have them at least 3.5 - 4 years apart since both of us are that range apart from our siblings, but that means if we keep with the plan to have one in 2010 when I am 28 that means I will be pregnant with my last at almost 40!!!   So maybe just two.  

I also talked with a cousin of mine (and pea-kay you can attest to this) that with three you have to have a bigger everything!  Bigger car, bigger house, bigger bank account, etc.  And I can only imagine how much private school is going to cost me.

heh. i WISH we had the bigger bank account! it's true, though. you really should have one. i am really wishing ours was bigger, since i got the boys' hospital bills the other day.

2, maybe 3. If we have 2 girls or 2 boys, we'll try for the 3rd to be a boy or a girl...whichever we don't have one of. Does the way I typed that make any sense?? We agreed on this from day one. But whatever God gives us, we'll be stoked about.

At least one - DD's mine from my previous marriage - DH has none.  We're back to TTC with medical intervention (yay/sarcasm) this cycle.

As of right now we want 2. We have talked about 3 but at this point it all seems so far away (We won't be trying for at least another 4 years) so who knows. We each have only 1 sibling also and all 4 of our parents each have 1 sibling.

3 for me, 2 for DH.  so obviously we don't agree.  I want 3 because ..... you know what, I don't know.  I just know that I want the chaos of 3

I'm definitely with everyone else here...2 or 3.  DH and I can agree on 2 so that will most likely be the "magic number".  What we don't know is when we even want to think about starting....

I'd like 3 or 4, he says the factory will "close" at 2.  He wants to avoid the middle child syndrome and I want my kids to not be as lonely as I was growing up.
