17 weeks pregnant and looking for a new OB/GYN

I am looking for a new Obstetrician. The one I have is good, but she is so busy now. Her practice has tripled. She birthed my 2nd child. I just want someone that can give me their undivided attention for the say 5 minutes they actually see me. I usually have to wait anywhere from 35 minutes to 1.5 hours just to move into the exam room.

I am not sure if doctors are willing to take on new clients at this point in a pregnancy. My present doctor is female. I do prefer a female, but I am not at a point to discriminate this late on. Also, I am hoping whomever I find would be willing to do a VBAC after 2 c-sections or at least let me have have a trial of labor first. Another issue is that I am 37, so I will need someone that is a high-risk specialist or that works in conjunction with one.

I live in Metairie, but have no problem with seeing a doctor in New Orleans (east bank).

  • I see Dr. Deck at Lakeside. He is very friendly and always takes time to listen to me and my concerns. His staff is very professional and nice as well.

  • I saw Dr. Thomas Kennedy at EJ...his practice was pretty big, they may have a female there.
  • I've never been pregnant but I see Dr. Ellen Krueger at Ochsner on Jefferson Hwy.  I love her.  She is very busy, but she is really great.  She delivered my niece and my brother and SIL love her too.  My SIL had a very complicated pregnancy, it was always something, but Dr. Krueger was so helpful.  My niece is now two and doing great.  Anyway, I got off track, but there are many doctors at Ochsner that are wonderful.

  • Dr. Rebecca Perret delivered my son and I delivered naturally (no medication) and she was totally + completely supportive. I think she is very open-minded, so you might want to try her. She is at Touro.
  • Dr. Carriere on the Clearview I-10 Service Rd., right next to Lakeside Hosp. He delivered my son in April and I absolutely loved him! He is the only one in the practice, but if I had a problem (say when I had a UTI about 25 weeks into preg) they got me in that day. He has late office hours on some days, which worked for me since I was teaching on the W. Bank. Anywho, let me know if you want more info!
  • BTW, your babies are beautiful!!!
  • Dr. George Morris, IV is Awesome!!!!  He's at Oschner.  His dad is there, too, so make sure you get the "IV".  A bunch of my friends go to him, as well as my sister in law.  He is so personable.  I have been to several OBGYN and he is my favorite by far.

I also have friends that go to Dr. Wild at EJ.  They love her, too.
