Today's Question: 3/16

Are you currently working on any home-improvement projects or wanting to decorate a certain room in your home?

Re: Today's Question: 3/16

  • We bought this house in Aug, and we have tons of things we want to do.  My most immediate though, is I want to buy new bedding for the guest room.  My husband's cousin and his new fiance (the fiance whom we have not yet met) are staying here next weekend.

We also REALLY need to pick some paint and get some paint on the walls here.  Right now our entire house is builder ecru.

  • good question.

Unfinished projects: two bathrooms, just the final touches, light fixtures and crown moulding.

I have all my inlaws staying over in June and desperately need to re-do the guest room.  I'm thinking bed-in-a-bagBig Smile

  • HA HA HA HA.

    What a great question!

On the to do list this week:  Rebuild mantel in the dining room, trim out old coal burning stove cap in the kitchen, install door jam in the guess room, support the roof sags that our inspection uncovered....

The list goes on and on and on and on....

  • If buying a home counts....thats pretty much our goal, then we'll start with the decoration projects, as for now though, we're living the apartment life, and I'm not really trying to decorate too much.

If you find any great bed-in-a-bags for a full size bed, please let me know!

  • No home improvement.  We live in an apartment, so there really is only so much we can do.  When I moved in, I did spend a few months "debachelorizing" the place.  I introduced my hubby to things like coverlets and pillow shams and sconces, and paitings or pictures that don't have sports figures as the main theme.

Right now we're actually in the process of redoing my hubby's shop.  He's in the computer repair business and he hasn't remodelled at all since he opened in 1998.  The weekend of the snow storm we painted the front and rearranged furniture in the front.

Right now they are working on organizing, rearranging, and cleaning the back.

In the front, we've probably spent less than $100 so far.  All we've done is paint and rearrange furniture.  People come in and ask if we put up a new wall paper border (no) or replaced the carpet (no, just cleaned it).  It just looks that different.

  • Well the only thing we have worked on is the baby nursery.  It's the only room upstairs that is painted.  All the other rooms upstairs are that builder ecru.  I don't see any painting in our future LOL.  But our downstairs is painted.

As far as decorating- um our downstairs will be "decorated" with baby paraphenilia soon enough.

  • DH and I are renting, so we're not doing much decorating.  I would like to finally frame some of our wedding pictures and put them up, but I don't forsee that happening anytime soon.

  • DH and I just bought a home after we got married. We are finally all moved in, so I want to start decorating. The house is new so no remodeling needs done, but it's time to add our own personality.
  • We have lived in this house for 3 years. Everday I think of projects  we should work on. since it is a 60 year old house. We just finished painting trim and doors in a hallway off the bathroom that we remodeled in February.  We had the plumbing redone and found the toliet had been leaking for a long time. My husband demolished the floor to find there was five layers of flooring. So I think we are going to take a break for a month from any big projects.
