How was your weekend?

It was so rainy here - and chilly. I really really want some warmer weather and sunshine!

We went out to eat a lot (too much probably) but the kids were really good!  Saturday L played hookey from doing school work so we got to spend the entire day as a family!  It is the first weekend morning/afternoon since January that I haven't been the only parent home. It was so nice! I can't wait for May!  Plus, L took them to the gym both days so they could play in child care and she could work out and I could stay home in a QUIET house and do things that needed to be done without little hands trying to help!

Yesterday, we had an unfortunate bathtime incident that subsequently involved a lot of bleech, a good scrubbing, and re-bathing a child. That didn't start my Sunday off well. Thankfully, aside from the lack of nap, the day was good and the kids were in good spirits.  L and I were asleep before 10 last night.

Re: How was your weekend?

  • Ours was good.  I was sick on friday so I went home and pretty much went to bed.

Sat was yoga and then chilling untill we went to my bf's house for the 1st birthday celebration for her daughter.  Just us and her family so it was great.  I can't wait until we have our addition to join the mix.  I am a little over a year younger than my bf and our baby and her youngest will be 1.5 years apart.  I hope they are best friends too!  How cute would that be!

Sunday was furniture shopping.  Got the mattress and might have found a coffee table. We found the perfect china cab but in the wrong wood finish.  We could buy the whole set (which we really liked but that is a tad crazy!)  So I don't think we will do that

We also went to a baby furniture warehouse where we liked not one set!  Oh well, my mil will be buying that so we don't have to worry too much about it.  We did look at the strollers and I am now in love with the quinny buzz!  May have to get that one.

I have grades due next monday so I am in correcting mode this week and have been very productive today.

My mind is running wild with all sorts of possibilites.  Just glad the child involved is okay :-)

My weekend had it's ups and downs.  Friday night one of our dogs lost a tooth. So Saturday I took her to the vet and found out the dog will need surgery.  I would have finished paying off her cancer treatment bill this month and now this :-(  Of course I'm going to take care of my girl, but it's frustrating having to fork over more $ at a time I'm trying to save. So that was the down side of the weekend.

Sunday was the up side.  We went to a local ski resort - my first time ever at a ski resort.  We didn't ski, but instead went to watch a cardboard sled race.  It was a lot of fun and really nice to get out of the house for a day.  Next time I'm definitely going to try my hand at snowboarding or skiing.

  • Well as I posted earlier, it was great. Very good finds for our LR makeover. Also, we met up with some friends Sat night and had a great time. Lots of laughing and fun! We were lazy yesterday though. Did the minimal and enjoyed watching movies and hanging out.

Let's just say the child in question should have said, "Mommy, I need to use the potty." Crying

  • It was good... very relaxing. I feel like we've been stuck in a whirlwind recently, so not having to do anything at all on Saturday was great. I didn't do anything Sunday either, though Trav had an alumni meeting to attend. We just relaxed, watched movies, and walked/played with the puppy.

It was just what I needed... physically and mentally.

  • So last week i had a wretched cold and even though I went to work I was completely out of it and not in the mood to even post. I started feeling better this weekend though and seem to be back to 100% today. T's cousin has been staying with us since she got dumped  and lost her job a couple weeks ago, well shes finally quit moping and got a job this weekend! It's only part time to start off but should quickly move into full time, all the closer to her getting back on her feet and getting her own place!!!

T hasnt had a good health day in a long time, and it seems to be getting worse, we haven't really done anything fun in weeks. Going to the grocery store is sometimes to much for her. I don't know what to do, i can't make her better. So we stayed home this weekend, watched some movies and I started my spring cleaning and completely reorganized and deep cleaned our kitchen.

oh no :(  poor pup...and poor wallet!

We had a really nice weekend! the weather was mild and the sun was out which is suuuuuch a relief after the tough winter. Saturday morning we hit the ground running with a general spring cleaning.  Andrea was a huge help and we were able to de-clutter the office, mud room, and basement along with a general clean-up of the whole house.  we also hung up some new decor in the office and shelves in the livign room. it was a hugely productive morning! Then we met up with the fam for dinner at a yummy restaurant and everyone came back to our house following dinner for desserts, wine, and chat.   I woke up Sunday morning realizing I propably had one too many glasses of wine (its sad to admit that i just cant drink like i used to....lol) - but all in all it was a great evening.

Sunday morning was church followed by meeting up with friends for a maple sugar festival (yuuuummmm) and lunch at a local mexican restaurant.  We got a bit of yardwork and grocery shopping done before i hit a wall and wanted nothing more than to be home in my jammies.  So, we topped off the evening in slippers, drinking hot chocolate, and playing monopoly (our ususal Wink)

  • wehad a pretty good (thoguh expensive) weekend. Skipped snowboarding (since we havent been all year anyway, sigh, and it was warm) and did work on the house. We have a new kitchen "island" (thanks Ikea), a new porch wall that needs screens added back (thanks C and brother) and two new exterior lights and garage outlets (thanks me and Dad) (and lunch and dinner of random crap, thanks mom, i love you but i wish you could cook better Surprise)

i did not get any work done though and amnow stressed about school.

  • Our weekend so so-so. We spent Saturday visiting family but didn't do much yesterday. I was feeling really down and couldn't muster the energy to do much other than sulk on the couch.
  • Our weekend was very nice. Saturday morning I went and had my blood drawn for my updated anovulation labs. Sylvia was a sweetheart and came with me. I was very brave and didn't bawl at the sight of the needle like I usually do (yeah, I'm a wuss; I had daily/weekly blood draws when I was very young, and I'm traumatized!), so I was proud of myself. Saturday late afternoon we went on a "date" to a restaurant we like but rarely get to visit. It was lovely.

I also got a chance to finally give S the gift I'd made for our 1st anniversary. I had calligraphied (well, fake-calligraphied... wrote neatly, I should say; lol) our wedding vows on some fancy paper and put it in a frame. (Get it? 1st anniversary=paper?) I was glad to finally get to give it to her, since I'd accidentally left it at home when we went away for our mini anniversary trip.

  • mine was crazy busy! we had dinner with friends on friday and saturday nights. after dinner on friday i dropped c off at her sister's so they could go to other friends' house for game night and i headed back home to work on my powerpoint presentation while i listened to the hockey game online.

saturday and sunday i worked on my portfolio and tweaked slides. we also got some work done on the bathroom. it's really coming together, though, which is awesome. the tile is all down and we should be able to grout on thursday--or at least that's the plan.

we also went to the hockey game on sunday--which was fun, but there was a really drunk guy sitting next to c (like drunk before the game even started and at least 4 large beers that we counted during the game). it was mildly amusing when he used his friend's phone to drunk-dialed his ex-wife, but he kept staring at us and invading c's space which sucked.

i'm looking forward to this weekend. i'm off on friday for graduation, and have absolutely no plans as of yet for the rest of it. i can't wait!
