Is anyone here from Norfolk?

I am moving to Virginia soon and I am wondering what part of Norfolk is the best to live in?

Please let me know and would gladly take any advice!

I am an Alabama girl and Virginia is new to me!

Are you military? If so, I think there's a military newlywed board that I'm sure has some Hampton Roads (Norfolk, Hampton, Newport News, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Suffolk) girls on it. I live in the area (Suffolk) and lived in Norfolk for a year but I'm not an expert by any means. Ghent in Norfolk is really nice but can be expensive. You can definitely live in one of the surrounding cities and have a pretty short commute (depending.) GL!

I recommend downtown & Ghent area's of Norfolk.

I have only lived in Hampton Roads for a year, but I would also recommend the Ghent area of Norfolk. There is also nice homes by ODU. Good luck finding something!

I agree. There are areas in Virginia Beach and Portsmouth that are also readily accessible to Norfolk as well that you should consider.

I have only lived here since September, but Ghent seems to be the only area worth living in in Norfolk.  Lots of better places in Virginia Beach.
