dinner in la mirada?

i'm meeting a friend for dinner Thursday night-she lives in Lake Forest, I'm in LA. She suggested La Mirada as a halfway point, but the places I'm finding online are either fast food or sub-par reviewed places. Any suggestions on where to eat or is there somewhere else that might be nearby?

The first place that comes to mind is Northwood's Inn, you can't miss it off of the 5 fwy it is a log cabin with snow on the roof!  It's been a long time since I have been but remember it being steaks and fish.

i saw that place, and the reviews of the food seemed so-so. but for the kitsch factor, it may be worth it!

I don't know any restaurant by freeway in La mirada except Northwood. You should consider Cerritos also. It has many restaurants near Cerritos Mall - CPK, Luccille, etc. Or. try downtown Fullerton (since i live there). it's not too far from 91 fwy - there are plenty good restaurants there.  Yelp it to find review.

Northwoods Inn is good. It's kind of a love/hate type of place. There are peanut shells all over the floor, it looks like a log cabin. The food, IMO, is good. They are known for their Cheesebread. Their salad is good, too. I think there is also an Elephant Bar in that shopping center, too.
