Need OB/Gyn Rec for Thousand Oaks Area

I need some OB Rec's for the Thousand Oaks area. The few that friends have given me are not covered by my insurance :(

My OB is in Beverly Hills and this drive is far so I don't know what to do. I love her but don't know if I will want to do the drive every month + for the next 9 or when I go into labor and what if there is traffic...gosh I would really freak!

Anyone have friends who gave birth at Los Robles in Thousand Oaks that had good experiences? The hospital just seems so small to me compared to the big one's in LA area??

Re: Need OB/Gyn Rec for Thousand Oaks Area

  • Hi not sure if you saw my response your last post..."Congrats !! I'm in Thousand Oaks and my OB is Dr. Stephanie Mandelman, she has an office on La Venta in Westlake Village and one at West Hills. I had the best experience with her, she was soo sweet to me and really calmed me down, I was paranoid at the beginning that the baby wasnt alive but she reassured me at every visit with an ultrasound :) Good Luck. Her number is (805)496-0880" What type on ins. do you have? Also I have heard that Dr. Grossman is great ;)

I just gave birth to my son at Los Robles in January and had a WONDERFUL experience !!  The rooms are all private and very large. I was very happy with everything ;)

  • Congrats!!!!

I second Dr. Mandleman. She was my OB/Gyn and both DH and I just loved her.

We delivered at West Hills hospital and had a great experience. (she delivers at both Los Robles and West Hills)

My good friend delivered at Los Robles around the same time (6ish months ago) and had an equally great experience. Both hospitals give tours which were nice.  Los Robles is (or at least was) undergoing construction, so just make sure to ask about that, and if it will be affecting the L&D floor (when i did the tour, it was the only department that had not yet been renovated).

    good luck and congrats again!!!

  • Thanks ladies. I sent you both a PM to email me if you can. Thanks!
