My DH and I are thinking of relocating and St. George is one of our options. He is a framing contracter and would like to start general contracting. Does anyone know anything about the Residental contruction in this area? and anything really about st. george in general???
Re: ? about Utah
Washington County (where St. George is) is the fastest-growing county in Utah, which is one of the fastest-growing states in the nation. So chances are, a contracting business would do quite well. Also really growing is eastern Utah--Vernal, in particular. My dad has an excavating company based there, but lives in Salt Lake (he spends M-F out there but the weekends here). Business is booming out there for builders. But Vernal is really a small town with not a lot going on, so if you like lots to do then St. George is your best bet.
St. George is about 30-45 minutes from Mesquite Nevada and an hour and a half from Las Vegas, so it's definitely got that going for it. It's small too but it's much more exciting than Vernal.
Good luck!
