Poll: Valentine's Day

Well, it's officially V-Day on Thursday, so I thought a poll about it would be fun!  Feel free to be candid with your responses!!

1.  What are you planning on giving to DH?
2.  What are your plans? Going out or staying in?
3.  What are you hoping to receive as a gift?
4.  Do you think Valentine's Day is a stupid holiday created by Hallmark (many men think this)?
5.  What do you NOT want to recieve as a gift?
6.  How many V-Day's have you celebrated with your DH?

Have a good week girls!!  P.S. Stay tuned to gtg messages--I just haven't decided on dates/locations yet.

    3. What are you hoping to receive as a gift? Nothing.
    4. Do you think Valentine's Day is a stupid holiday created by Hallmark (many men think this)? I think it has been over-commercialized by Hallmark and the like, but I think that the idea of the holiday is good.
    5. What do you NOT want to recieve as a gift? Flowers, I tell DH never to buy flowers on V-Day because they are so overpriced.
    6. How many V-Day's have you celebrated with your DH? This will be number 5.
  • 1. What are you planning on giving to DH? I really don't know!  Although, what I think he would really want I don't have to spend any $ on, if you get my drift!  [;)]

    3. What are you hoping to receive as a gift? I already got mine!  An iPod!
    4. Do you think Valentine's Day is a stupid holiday created by Hallmark (many men think this)? I don't think it's stupid, but I do think it's a Hallmark Holiday.  I'm not upset if it's uneventful.

  • 1. What are you planning on giving to DH? Nothing too big, candy, card, just typical stuff.  We don't spend a lot, just try to be sweet.
    2. What are your plans? Going out or staying in? He will be in Chicago for work but we have reservations at Malone's for Sat to make up for it.
    3. What are you hoping to receive as a gift? Lindt truffles!  Really-thats all I want.  I LOVE them!!
    4. Do you think Valentine's Day is a stupid holiday created by Hallmark (many men think this)? No, it was created to celebrate St Valentine who broke the law by secretly marrying people in love.  It should be celebrated to remember the love you have for someone, but I think it has commercially gotten out of hand.  We make it a romantic day, but won't spend hundreds.  (long answer-sorry)
    5. What do you NOT want to recieve as a gift? A stuffed animal. It always makes me feel guilty for getting rid of it when I am cleaning out the clutter.
    6. How many V-Day's have you celebrated with your DH? 7 (only 2 married)
  • 1. What are you planning on giving to DH?  We don't exchange gifts on Valentine's Day, but I plan to mail a card to him.
    2. What are your plans? Going out or staying in?  We won't be in the same city on the 14th and I'm not sure about this weekend.  We typically go out to eat every Friday night, so I guess that will be our celebration.
    3. What are you hoping to receive as a gift?  Nothing, though a candlelit dinner at home would be nice.
    4. Do you think Valentine's Day is a stupid holiday created by Hallmark (many men think this)?  I don't think it's a stupid holiday, but I think some people do go overboard.
    5. What do you NOT want to recieve as a gift?  Something corny, like a stuffed animal that sings.
    6. How many V-Day's have you celebrated with your DH?  5
  • Hey girls, I gotta say some of your responses were very funny!  Here are mine...

    1. What are you planning on giving to DH? Probably something cheesy like silly V-Day boxer shorts!
    2. What are your plans? Going out or staying in?  We will go out to dinner somewhere probably this weekend.
    3. What are you hoping to receive as a gift? Something nominal--I think it's crazy to go overboard on this holiday.  I'll wait to my B-Day!!
    4. Do you think Valentine's Day is a stupid holiday created by Hallmark (many men think this)?  The principal is good, but yes, I think the retail aspect as taken over.  I like random gifts throughout the year, which mean so much more...
    5. What do you NOT want to recieve as a gift? No flowers from a florist!!  Way too expensive!
    6. How many V-Day's have you celebrated with your DH? 3
