St. Louis Playgroups / Moms Clubs

Hi All - I'm new to posting on here, and am hoping for some playgroup recommendations.  I'm new to being a stay at home mom, live in South City and was hoping for some recommendations on Moms Clubs or Playgroups.  I've done some looking online, but not having much luck.  If anyone can offer suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

Re: St. Louis Playgroups / Moms Clubs

  • Hi!
I'm a new stay at home mom also. I've got a 2 month old son, Paker. I'd love to start a play group with you. We live in Glendale.   Also, STL Babies on the Brain has a group that meets every month at Cooper Ella in Maplewood. I'm going to be going to my first get-together later this month. Its for moms and all kids.

  • I'd also be interested in forming a group!  I'm a stay at home mom with an almost 6 month old.  I'm part of two playgroups on meetup.com.  There are many mom groups on that website from all around the STL area.  Also are you part of Parents As Teachers?  I know there are playgroups with many, if not all of the PAT.  Plus there are many activities to go to each month.  Unfortunately my PAT group is winding down for the school year so not much is going on for the kiddos under 7 months.
  • Thanks to you both!  I'm absolutely interested in joining you and your little ones; however, my daughter is only 2 weeks old....is that too early?  Needless to say, I'm very new to all of this!

My sister-in-law was just telling me about Cooper Ella today, as a matter of fact.  Sounds like a great place, but she made it sound like it was more for toddlers.

  • cooper ella is for everyone! it is a great place to sit and visit, ask questions of other moms and have a great lunch! i love their food. and their slushies. there is also MOPS - it stands for moms of preschoolers but that is misleading. you can join once you are pregnant. they are run at local churches and run the length of the school year. some are churchier than others. mine is middle of the road. they meet once a month. babies 6months and over can go to "moppets" where they play with other kids their age. if they are younger than 6 months they stay with mom. breakfast is provided by other moms - it rotates month to month. it is a great way to meet moms in your area. if you want more info on MOPS, just page me. we have anther board that is a great resource. we meet up once a month -

    good luck!

  • We group of us are actually going to cooper ella on Wed at 12:00 I think.  I'll post details tomorrow, getting ready to wind down and get ready for bed now.
  • I attend a playgroup on Tuesdays at 1pm at Kangaroo Kids on Manchester. It is mostly older babies and toddlers (movers) but anyone is welcome! They also have a great new menu in their cafe, so sometimes I eat lunch there before playgroup. We'd love to have everyone!
