Good place to get garden stones & mulch?

We're doing a major overhaul on our yard this year and I was wondering if you ladies have any recs for a good place to have some gardening stones (like what you see around the edge of flower beds) and mulch delivered in from.

Thanks!

  • We've never used their services, but we usually get our gardening stuff from Hartke Nursery on Warson.

  • What area/city do you live in. I know St. Louis city offers up FREE mulch but not sure when that happens or if it is year round, but other cities as well make these offers. Fenton does, but I don't think there is a supply right now, but I am sure in a few weeks there might be. We have a landscape guy we get our stuff through just cause of the guarentee he offers. It is Four Seasons Lawncare. He also was able to beat the prices with instalation compared to just prices of some of the nurseries around us.
  • And I just want to say that picture of Ava is great!!
  • We found great stones at Kirkwood Material off Big Bend (around 44/Lindbergh).  They were different than the same ol' stones you see everywhere else.  One year we got the mulch from there and other years we got the mulch at Marshall's Nursery on 141 in Fenton.

  • Kirkwood Material  that Amy mentioned is a great resource for stones, rocks and all building materials for gardens. Great place to go and see some different designs and layouts. Quite a selection. MUCH better than the 2 choices at your local Home Depot or Lowe's.
  • Great! Thanks ladies.
