St. Louis Residents!!!!!!!

Okay, now that I have your attention... *sorry bout that* I need a favor.  My hubby, son, and I are moving back to Missouri in June.  I am looking for a name of a financial advisor that preferably will charge a flat fee rather then work on comission.  I am graduating in May from pharmacy school and need help getting started on the right path.

Any suggestions?

Re: St. Louis Residents!!!!!!!

  • My family all use various offices of Edward Jones -- depends on where they live.
  • I second Edward Jones.  My guy is in Arnold, his name is Chad Schaffer.  If you are anywhere near that area, number is 636-461-0075.  Hope this helps.
  • Maybe they have different programs, but I'm pretty sure edward jones is not flat-fee...

Do you mean a flat fee as in $x per month or per year? Or flat fee as in x% of your holdings per month?

If it's the latter, just about anyone at any firm can put you in a managed account.

  • I work for Merrill Lynch (I'm an assistant, not advisor)  so let me know if you'd like a referral.  I don't know of a firm that charges a "flat fee", it would depend on the type of account opened and what type of investments are in the account.  As pp said, there are also managed accounts that are charged management fees on a quarterly basis.  There are so many options out there for you, so my advice is to meet with a couple advisors and get some different proposals and then go with your gut.  feel free to email me at amadura at charter dot net if you have questions.  i check the email at night.  good luck, i'd be happy to help, if you need it.
