I'd like to have 3 month photo's done of DD.  Anyone recommend a photographer/studio?
I'm considering JcPenneys, Sears or Portrait Innovations.  Does anyone have any experiance with any of these?  Is there a better place out there that I don't know about?  Please share! We're on a budget, so pricey won't work!   Thanks ladies

If you are looking for studio, I personally like Picture People. And I really don't find their prices that much more than Target, Sears, etc because you walk out that day with your pictures. The picture in my siggy is from there. Other than special times, like Christmas, her birthday, and her birth, we have used Picture People. I know if you go online you can ever get a coupon for a free 8x10 or 10x13 with 15% off your additional purchases. I want to say it is 18 per sheet. But my opinion is it is worth it because you get your pictures in 20 minutes intstead os a week +. We go to South County.

We have always went to Target in Fenton..BUT you have to be sure to ask for Debbie.  Yes you have to wait a bit for the pics but at 3.99  a sheet, a free 8x10 and no sitting fee it's worth it to us. Also there is a 50% coupon in the entertainment book. 

I've been wanting to try Portrait Innovations since I have seen some good pics from there as well.

I beg to differ about Targets pricing, unless you can be a member their pricing was not that cheap for us. We went there once, horrible service, and for 4 sheets of pictures, nothing extra or special we spent 75 bucks (the phtographers name according the the reciept was Deborah)

You might also have luck trying Trisha Seleen or Brigid Robeen, they are both starting off photographers and could give you are great deal. I know Trisha is offering a picture session for someone over the weekend at 75 dollars plus the High Res CD of pictures. Not sure how many pictures that will include or if some will be photoshoped but it is worth a try. GL

Cassie..did you have one of the many coupons that come in the Sunday papers?  The coupon AND website states 3.99 a sheet or at the most 4.99 a sheet.  I have gotten out of there spending less than $20 and having at least 5 sheets. Sorry you had a bad experience.  I've only had one bad experience and that's when the new manager took pictures instead of Debbie.

I've been to Penney's with Thomas and it was an absolutely HORRIBLE experience. 

I have never taken the kiddos to Picture People and won't since I can't see paying $20 a sheet as quoted on their website.

i have a pro photog that takes pics of amelia quite often. when she is not available or i want a change, i go to portrait innovations. they take a bunch of pics. you can get out of there for $9.95, no sitting fee. it is a good package - 1 10x13, 2 8x10, 4 5x7, 4 3.5x5 and 32 wallets. it is of one pose and you can go once a promotional season (christmas, easter, halloween etc). we just went and for the package and 2 or 3 extra sheets for about $40. you get them that day too. on busy days you may have to wait 30 mins or so for the pics.

I've been to JCP and Portrait Innovations.  I was very happy with JCP, but then again I think it depends on the photographer.  I went to JCP at South County, but unfortunately I can't remember the lady who took Will's newborn pictures.  Anyway.  I'd go back!!

I went to Portrait Innovations earlier this month and had a horrible experience, BUT I will go back which I'll explain why in a minute.  I went on a Sunday just to get 10 free Easter cards/announcements, which was supposedly ending that day.  My mistake.  I should have gone on a weekday and not three weeks before Easter.  It was extremely crowded!  My appt. was at 4:15 and I didn't get the pictures taken until 5:30.  Then at 5:50 the guy told me it would be until 6:30 till I could see the pictures so I went to get dinner.  (Good thing it's in Chesterfield Valley- lots of dinner choices!  There's also one in Brentwood and maybe one other place.)  Well I got back at 6:30 and needless to say I didn't see the pictures until 7:50 and was the last person there!!  Plus they close at 6!!!  Poor Will was tired and hungry.  I couldn't feed him (breastfeeding) since he pooped all over his blanket and I had nothing to cover me up.  By that point I could have cared less which pictures I chose.  I picked two poses- one for the $9.95 deal and one extra pose/package.  One worker came over and for my troubles she gave me 10 extra Easter cards and comped the total- $35.00.  That was nice of her and it made the situation better although I didn't complain since the poor girl had already been yelled at twice earlier and ended up crying.  So it seems, and I was told, that corporate tells them basically to overbook.  I was gone for 5 hours just doing that!!!  Now a friend of mine who goes there often was there that same day, earlier in the day and she was in and out in 40 minutes.  I've also heard great things from others who have used them.  I will go back there ONLY on a weekday and not too close to a holiday.  In fact, I'm going back in April to do the grandkids for Mother's Day pictures for the grandmas.  I would give them a shot if I were you.  I'm going to give them a second chance.

we went to picture people and spent WAY more than I ever intend to spend on pictures again. Even w/a free sitting and 15 % coupon they were ridiculously expensive.  I am not sure I will ever use them again but if I do, I would only pick one pose.

We had a good experience at Portrait Innovations.  We went on a weekend but were the first appointment of the day.  We got the $9.99 special but also spent enough to get the CD with all of the pictures they took.
When the weather is nice we use a photographer that takes pictures at a location of our choice, our home, the park, etc.  The cost  includes the CD with all the pictures she took.
