Used Books in STL area?

In cleaning things up recently, I found a bunch of paperbacks that I want to get out of my house!  They are in relatively good condition...the forever "bought it, read it, put it away" books that my dad and I are suckers for!  Anyone know of a place (besides Goodwill) that takes used books, either as donations or to pay?

Thanks!

Re: Used Books in STL area?

  • We sold some of our books on half.com and were able to get a little cash and get rid of some clutter :)
  • I've donated paperback books to the library before. I've written up a list of the titles and asked someone from the library to sign and date it so I can include it in our taxes at the end of the year.

  • There is a bookstore in Florissant called Annie's Book Stop that takes used books and gives you credit to get other books.
  • I sold books on half.com for a long time.  I tend to only post my more expensive books on there now.  Otherwise, I donate to the library and get a slip for my taxes.  I figure if it goes to the library, the books will be able to help a lot of people.
  • A few friends of mine use paperbackswap.com and say it's pretty good.  HTH :-)
