OBGYN Recommendations?

Howdy ladies!  It has been a long while since I've posted on this board...but I was hoping you all could help me with some OBGYN recs.  I've been going to mine for over 10 years now and have always been somewhat unhappy.  Well, I'm now TTC and she has been very unresponsive I also came across another individual that has been TTC for over a year and was very unhappy with her Dr.; come to find out we were going to the same one!  That was enough for me to decide to switch.  Long story, not so short...does anyone have any good OBGYN recs for Dr.s in the west county area? TIA!

Re: OBGYN Recommendations?

  • I have a friend who just had a baby with Dr Mimlitz at St John's and my dr is Dr Ruggeri-Harrison at St John's.  She just had the baby Wednesday and she had rave reveiws for the hospital staff while delivering at that hospital.
  • Dr. Craig Boyd at St. John's.  I've been going to him for almost 15 years and he's been great.

  • I see Lauri Klabi- and she's been great! I saw her pre-pg- and will have my first pre-natal appt with her in a few weeks. I also like her NP. She is at Mo Bap. I'm not sure however if she is taking new patients. I know her partners are though. GL!
  • Tim Philpott. His office in in Mo Bap Building D.  He just delivered our son, Parker, 4 weeks ago. I can't tell you how wonderful he is, he was so great with answering all my questions during visits and when I would have questions at home. He is a super OB, very caring and genuine.
Office staff and nurses are wonderful also.

  • Dr. Karen Voegtle at St. Lukes and Winghaven, but she delivers at all the area hospitals. There are several doctors in this practice and they are all great, but she is the best! I have recommended her over and over again....she is awesome! I've been seeing her for a while and she delivered my daughter and will also deliver my next child. Her phone number is 314-576-0930. Good Luck!

  • I second Dr. Klabi's office.  I found out about her through this board. (thanks, ladies!) When I called, she wasn't taking new patients, so I've started seeing one of her partners (Dr. Margaret Rempe) and I love her!

  • I see Dr. Daniel McDonald at the corner of Big Bend and Clayton Rd.  He delivers at Mo Bap and St. Johns.  He's absolutely wonderful.  My mom referred me to him, and I found out my friend also sees him.  I would recommend him 100 times over.

  • I see Dr. Becky Shelton.  She is at Manchester and 270.  She is SUPER nice.  I have run into a lot of people that see her.  There are a few on the board too.  Her number is 314-919-2600.  They have been nothing but great to me while TTC and now through my pregnancy.  Good Luck!  ***baby dust to you***
  • Thank you girls so much for all the recommendations!  I really appreciate it...I never knew finding a doctor would be so difficult!

  • I 2nd Dan McDonald.  Although he delivers at Mo Bap and St. Joe's not St. John's.

I've been seeing him about 5 years and can't say enough about him.

I've had several issues and have always been pleased with how he and his staff have helped me. As awful as it was when I had my misscarriage, his staff was tremondous in supporting me.

I'm about to have my 2nd baby any day now!

    Good luck!
  • I second the recommendation for Dr.Shelton, although I just started seeing her once I was pregnant. :)

  • I recommend Lauri Klabi also.  I had been going to her for about 6 yrs pre-pg and she was great for that as well as for during my pg.  She has two partners and an np and there's not a one in the practice that I don't like-they're all great-plus dr. klabi wasn't on call when ds was born, her partner Dr. rockamon (sp?) delivered ds and I was just as comfortable w/ her as I would have been w/ dr. klabi.
  • I second Dr. Tim Philpott....  My mom is a labor and delivery nurse and watched him come up through is residency.  She recommended him to me and I have only ever seen him!  He is G R E A T!!!  We have been through two ectopics (he preformed both my surgeries) and he has been so wonderful and so has his staff....  I hopefully will never hace to switch!

    Good Luck...

Ps.. He is at Missouri Baptist and his practice is Women's Care Consultants!

  • i can also endorse dr philpot. I think all the postpartum nurses i work with go to him. they have nothing but raves for how nice and he is and what a wonderful bedside manor he has. a lot of my friends have had TTC's issues and her was super supportive.

disclaimer: i love my OB too but she is in brentwood :)

  • Sorry for the typo, I meant St. Joes (duh, that's actually where I had DS and he was the delivering doc).
