Need help - BHam activities

So this is kind of short notice, but I have an old college friend coming here for a visit (she gets here tonight) and I've been trying to decide what we can do tomorrow.

We're going to walk around my university, go to a local place and walk around and then I was thinking maybe Oak Mountain state park?? It might be rainy though, so outdoors might not be an option??

Any recommendations for things to do in Birmingham for someone who's never seen the area?

Re: Need help - BHam activities

  • Weather permitting, you could go to botanical gardens/aldridge gardens.

If it rains there's always the Civil Rights Museum, the Art Musuem, the little shops around homewood (soho area)

    I'm sure there's more, I'll keep thinking.

  • the museum of art is free and way cool, also check out the McWane Center! Way fun!

  • Go eat at Surin! :)

And I would suggest the Alabama Theatre, as we took my MIL there last week, but it doesn't have a movie playing this week.
