PCP/TTC/ATP wednesday

I know I am a newbie and I thought I could start a "day of the week" post for a change.  SO....what's the news?

We are just a day or 2 into TWW.  Inseminated at home Monday and Tuesday night.....now we wait....

Love to hear what the rest of you have going on...

Re: PCP/TTC/ATP wednesday

  • oops...I meant Sunday and Monday night.
  • I'm one week post D&E... and doing okay.

Physically, I'm still bleeding a little, but am hoping it will stop soon. One week into my two weeks of pelvic rest. Next Wednesday I have my follow-up appointment, and we should be given the all clear to resume normal activity.

Emotionally... well, I'm still sad and have bad days, but I'm definitely doing better. I still tear up if I talk about it, or have to tell someone that I lost my baby, but day to day I'm able to be happy and have good times.

I guess its pretty much all about waiting for my next period to start then. Once we see how long it takes for my period to come, we'll talk and see if we are ready to start trying again, or if we want to wait an extra month to give ourselves some more time. Honestly, at this point I have no idea what we'll choose.

  • Meegs- I am glad you are healing both physically and emotionally.  Take your time.  You will know when it is the right thing to do.  Hugs to you and I think about you all the time.

madison-is this your first 2ww?  Good luck I hope it goes well.

For us we are doing good.  My allergies have really kicked in this week so I have sinus pain and a snotty nose.  I know it will pass once the maples bloom and I remember not being yucky at the wedding so I know it is less than a month.  I can deal.

I am doing a lab today which I was nervous about since it involves heating mineral with the bunsen burner.  I am happy to report that I am not having any ill effects from the gas burners or the fumes from the lab itself.

I am going maternity shopping with my mom on sunday.  Which should be fun.  She is buying so that is even more fun!  I spoke with my boss and hr this morning and it was decided that I will not start the school year next year!  Yeah!  The first day with students is Sept 8th one week before my due date.  Seemed silly to try and work for a week and a half and then going out.  Also I was dreading trying to teach that close to my due date.  I need to get a drs note and will use sick time  until my due date. I have 80 sick days saved up so I am all set.  Then take my 8 weeks paid plus the 4 weeks unpaid (12 total) of maternity leave.   The great thing I learned is that they will spread the 8 weeks of pay over the 12 so that I will always have benifits and it won't count against my retierment (in 18 years! not that I'm counting he he)

I also spoke with a lawyer today and she is putting a proposal for me about the 2nd parent adoption and wills.  She is going to charge me a flat rate instead of her hourly rate so hopefully it will be reasonable.   Or at least as reasonable as lawyers fees are.  I played the poor teacher card. Perhaps she will take pitty.

Sorry that was so long.  Hope all is well with everyone else.

  • We go in tommorrow for our iui. Please wish us luck. I feel really good about this one, but I don't want to think to much about it just so I'm prepared.
  • meegs, i'm really glad to hear you're doing better. i've been thinking a lot about you and trav. sending lots of hugs and good thoughts to both of you.

for us, we got our third beta back on monday and it was 2034, which is well over doubled from the one before. we're scheduled for the first ultrasound on april 1 at 7 1/2 weeks, and i'm really excited (and, i must admit, a little anxious).

yesterday when i got home from work there were three cards in our mailbox. one from her parents for my graduation, but also one from a really good friend of mine who lives out of town congratulating us on expecting, and--this is huge--one from c's parents congratulating us as well! they really seem to be excited and embracing the idea, which is wonderful.

  • Meegs - I've been thinking about you too. Glad things are starting to look up.  Keep taking care of yourselves.

good luck to everyone in the 2ww or just about to begin it!

I am glad all of our pregnant ladies are doing well!

Nothing really new here. Gray came to our bed around midnight (nothing new there) and was so cuddly - just snuggled against me and wedged a foot between my knees and tossed an arm over me. I just stared at him and was filled with love for him all over again. This morning while I was getting ready for work, Carter came in to the bathroom and grabbed my hand and just stood next to me holding my hand in his while I tried to put make-up on (very difficult to do one handed - but I wanted to continue hold his hand. Needless to say I forgot eyeliner or mascara this morning!) I am really loving this age - and I think it'll only get better and better.

  • Madison and slb: good luck!! and i hope the tww goes quickly for you both!

Meegs: continued hugs. i'm so impressed by your strength.

Sam: lots of updates! hope the lawyer has pity on you although i might take that back after reading that you get to retire in 18 years!! i'm jealous Stick out tongue

blue: you've got fantastic updates all around! i'm so happy for you guys :)

2brides: you melt me with stories about your boys. they are just too cute! please keep sharing

    Our update:

Consult with the midwives is the first week of april and we're on track for our first IUI in early may. we still have to buy sperm but i figured i'd wait until after the consult so i have the logistics pinned down.  We're currently debating the pros/cons of doing 2 IUIs in may...or maybe 1 IUI and 1 at home ICI....or just stickign with the 1 IUI....oy too many decisions.

And on the foster front i shared my big update (aka they finally called) earlier, but i just spoke with our SW and i have another update: theres a good chance we'll get into an accelerated licensing class! so the new timeline is: 1) home inspection next week 2) assuming we pass home inspection, we'll begin classes next saturday and continue for 5 saturdays allllll day long leading to 3) be placement ready in 5-6 weeks!  its a great new plan and works so much better for our schedule but i'm still hesitant from past dissapointment.  This foster thing is such a roller coaster.

  • meegs - great job being gentle to yourself.

to answer about our TWW - this is our second time trying.

  • Good to see everyone's updates. Glad to see everyone is "hanging in there". Best wishes for everyone.

As for us: Just waiting for the RE consult on Friday. Been trying to get my records released from my gyn to the RE. Got two results from my most recent labs-- fasting glucose was fine and I have "positive immunity" to CMV (it was a voicemail message, but I assume she meant I am positive for past CMV exposure) and am negative for recent CMV exposure. Still waiting on the anovulation panel.

Now that I have the CMV info, I am off to buy our favorite donor's full profile! Yippee!
