vet refferal?

hi!  hopefully everyone's having a fab weekend!  i was wondering who LOVES their vet, or even a family/friend that loves theirs?  we still need to find one.  playdoh's annual check-up & rabies are coming up & we just got a puppy that needs her vaccines continued.  distance isn't a major decision. . . just an amazing caring doctor like our dr. dan in minnesota.  thanks!!! :)

Re: vet refferal?

  • I don't know what part of San Diego you are in, but so far we like our vet. We just moved here in October, so we don't have enough experience to LOVE our vet yet. But His name is Dr. Rose and it's the Cabrillo Pet Hospital. They also have a boarding facility/pet store/center next door.

It is in the Point Loma/Ocean Beach area.

  • Also not sure where you are, but I have been taking our cats to Parkway Pet Clinic in Escondido for the past 11 years.  They have been such great help to us throughout the time the cats have been patients.  It was originally a practice by a man, but now his daughter has taken over.  Good luck!
  • In College area there is College Animal Hospital, the place is tiny but the doc is great, been going to her since we moved here in 1999.

  • We use Acacia Animal Hospital in Escondido.

Dr. Gallerstein is our favorite but he isnt always available for weekend appointments.  All of the vets are really great.

The facility is relatively new--they moved into a new building 2 years ago.  They provide the standard vet services, kennel facilitites, the dog and cat spa, bird day care, and dog training classes.  They are easy to get to--right off the 15 in Escondido.

They are a bit more expensive than some of the other vets in the area....just an FYI in case cost is an issue.
  • thanks for the help ladies!  you're great!  :)
  • We use Dr. Rose too! He's great.

My DH has taken his pets there for YEARS and his whole family goes to him.

They have a clinic for discounted vaccine shots (rabies, bortadella, etc) every first Wednesday of the month or something. We never pay full price for our vaccines.

And since we couldn't get to the clinic this year for Scout's rabies shot we went to Peninsula Pet Clinic down the street from Dr. Rose and paid $6! It was great (and on a Saturday!)
