Insider tips---HELP!

A friend of mine is staying in San Diego for the weekend.  She is right on the bay in the Manchester Hyatt and has no clue where to go for some fun/shopping.  Any place with restaurants and shops or beautiful sights would be perfect...any recommendations?

Tell her to walk to the Gaslamp Quarter (5th-7th streets) for boutique shopping, restaurants, clubs, bars, etc. There's also a large mall called Horton Plaza right there between 1st & 3rd for tons of stores.

there is a ton of stuff in the Gaslamp and the East Village area near Petco park. Horton Plaza is the mall located down there as well as boutiques.  There is also the Top of the Hyatt which is a great place for drinks and appetizers.

She is in a great location.  Like pp's have said the Gaslamp Quarter and the East village are great.  She is also right next to Seaport Village which is right next the water.  It has little stores and is pretty to walk around or have dinner.  Horton Plaza is a big outdoor mall right there as well.

The Padres have home games all weekend. She should get tickets.

Oh, and have her check out the Top of the Hyatt. Great view.

oooo, good idea Faye.  They are playing the Dodgers.  Should be fun games because there is a big rivalry between the two teams.
