Poll: Cell Phones

Without divulging price (that seems to piss you broads off). Can you recommend a good dependable cell phone. I use text and email/web minimally. I just need a good dependable, long battery life phone.

Re: Poll: Cell Phones

  • I have a Motorola Razr and haven't had any problems with it. The battery lasts quite a while but the keys are a bit close together so it may be a bit more difficult with texting (I've just gotten used to it). Not sure about web browsing.

  • I have a Sony Ericsson Walkman phone.  My husband picked it out and I've been really happy with it.  I've dropped it a number of times without the screen or the rest of the phone scratching or breaking.  We get good service almost everywhere (AT&T) and the battery life is great.  It's a slider (rather than flip) phone, in case you have a particular preference.
  • I have a blackberry I get all my emails on my phone you can have up too 10 come to your phone and it has a full keyboard.  It is kind of awkward to hold when you are talking though, especially if you have a wierd case on it.  On battery it does die a little sooner then I'd like but you just keep an eye on the meter and you'll be fine.
  • Whatever we paid for the razr was way too much. POC.

I've recently seen a bunch of people get Go phones.

  • I second the Sony Ericsson phone, I always have good reception even in our apartment, where my husband gets pretty bad reception (he has a Samsung)...

I personally wouldn't buy another Motorola phone because (in my experience) after a while the charger connectors become too dirty (or worn or something) and the phone doesn't charge or it has to be in one specific position to charge and if it moves just a bit it looses the contact, so it's a pain to charge, if it charges at all (this also happened to my boss recently)... Also, on my last Motorola phone at the end the speaker stopped working so I had to used it on SPEAKER to hear the person talk!!!  It sucked LOL It was kind of embarrasing, but it was a month or so before our contract ended and I could get a new phone :-)

  • Okay, I am lmao that you called us broads. I have the Verizon Pink RAZR and it's a piece of sh!t. It used to work but now 2 years later if makes a better doorstop than phone. Maybe I'm just bitter because I miss my blackberry :/ But really my phone does suck. I have heard of others having the non-verizon RAZRs and having no problems. I have my eye on a blackberry pearl or an iphone. I am waiting unil the 3G mod iphone comes out (probably June) before I make my decision. I love Verizon service, I just hate my phone :/

  • I have a Palm Treo and I LOVE it! While it was a pricey option, I have Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Windows Media Player etc on my phone. I only charge it once a week and I use it a lot. I have had it for over a year and it is still wonderful.

My DH has a Razr and hates it. It is dead by the end of the day (with minimal use, maybe 20 minutes of talk/text time) and he charges it every night. He wishes he had bought my phone.

  • PS...just for the record...I am not a broad...I was the one that got flamed for talking about money. teehee.
  • we've had verizon wireless for years.  i've got an old school phone.  would LOVE an iphone, but not willing to change companies.
my husband's always had LG phones & very happy w/ them.  my brother switch from a motorola to a LG & really likes it too.

  • My DH's TREO needs to be charged daily, FYI. I have a Motorola Q and it syncs with my outlook. I love it. Charge it every 2-3 days depending on usage.

  • We have nokias.  DHs nokia is from Russia and is NOT available in the US--it has every option you can imagine-email, MS office suite, video recorder, camera, mp3 player, etc.  My 2 nokias are a few years old and only have text based web browsing.  I got my Nokia 6200 when i came out in 2003 and it still works and i LOVE IT.

The battery life is ok.  I talk to DH every night for at least an hour and use the phone sporadically through the day and I can go a few days between charges.

Ive had 3 nokias and 1 Erikson (before they merged with Sony).  I swear by my nokias--never had ANY problems with them.
