*Mrs. SDSU*

Since you are the resident pro for Glen Ivy I have a question for you.  Some girlfreinds and i are going in April.  I called today to book my 80 minute massage and they asked me if I had a preferance on guy or girl.  I didn't really think about it and I said i didnt.  Do you get massages there buy guys.  I love massages but have never had one by a guy before.  Do you have a preferance?

  • **butting in post**

I've had massages by guys and gals. No matter the gender they have been professional and gave a great massage. I've never been uncomfortable with a guy.

  • Thanks Faye.  Thats what I was thinking to.  I'm going to keep it as is.  By the way, didnt you do a spa day last week?  How was it, and how was lunch today?  I'm so sad to miss it.  It is hard for me to get away for longer than 30 minutes so I have to usualy go somewere I can walk to.

  • We missed you today! But I know how it is with taking time from the office. It was a lot of fun. Caught up on the major things in our lives, had some laughs, and ate yummy food.

The spa day was great. I did a massage, had sushi, then got a pedi and wax. Nice to relax a bit in the middle of major changes.

    How's work going?

  • BIP - I've had guys before, though I think I usually prefer girls. There's just something about being naked in a room with a guy that isn't my husband that gets my mind tense...I don't know why.

Despite my mental struggles, it's always worked out on the side of relaxation.

  • Fay-work is going good.  I started my certificate program at SDSU this week so that is going to keep me busy for the next 12 weeks.

  • I always request men. There is something about thicker and stronger fingers that make for a better massage. Girls hands are so thin and delicate. I like my massages deep and firm...I am usually sore for a few days after...but then I feel great for months. I had a girl massage the time I went with DH to Glen Ivy because he was so "anit-guy" in the room...it sucked for me. Even though I paid for deep tissue, she barely dug in...

Like Natalie said, I think it has a lot to do with your preferance in modesty. I am very immodest, so I dont mind men...but if you think you may be shy...go with a girl. You want to be relaxed. Either way...they use professional draping techniques, so you have nothing to worry about.

  • PS...have a lovely time...and dont forget to tip. I left Glen Ivy once without stopping by the counter on my way out to tip and I felt horrible. I was able to call the next day and add a tip...but still, I felt bad.
  • Thanks for the info!  Do you tip a precentage of the total?  If so, can you share what is appropriate for tips?  I was a waitress for years and totally understand how much to tip in restaraunts however I always feel unsure with beuty stuff.

  • I do 10% if it was below average, but not aweful (Complain if its aweful)

15% if it was above average

20% if it was super fabulous...

I usually do somewhere around 17 or 18...
