is Wild Animal park inside the zoo?

I can't tell from the websites - are they connected/part of each other?  are there seperate entrance fees?  The safari rides look neat, anyone do it?

i actually prefer the WAP (Wild Animal Park) to the zoo, but the zoo is great too!  they are seperate entrance fees and as the pp said, the WAP is about 30 miles north of the zoo.  if you go to the WAP the Journey into Africa "train" ride is a must!  also, parking at the zoo is free, but you have to pay for parking at the WAP.

Your close to the zoo. And the WAP is is escondido. You'll need to drive or take a LONG bus ride. I love the WAP and the Zoo. 
wwwdot frommers dot com has might have some good ideas on how to get from one to another but i can't think of anything but driving

yes the WAP is in Escondido off of Via Ranco Parkway on the 15 just in case you wanted to know. I took my FI on a couples safari and it was like a safari and then a beer and wine thing at the end and we watched a movie about rhino sex weird but interesting anywho we got to feed rhinos and other random animals totally worth doing.
