Hi Nesties- I am from Maryland and will be visiting San Diego this weekend. Was hoping to get some advice on a good restaurant. I will be staying near Balboa Park and also will be heading down near the convention center/gas lamp. I am a vegetarian and would like to find a place that has some vegetarian options but not like a sandwhich place- a restaurant. Please share your faves with me? Any ocean view?
Re: Restaurants?
Ok, if you're up for something unique I would HIGHLY recommend Spread in Hillcrest (near the downtown, Balboa Park area). Went with friends and had a great time. The owners make the menu new every day depending on the Farmer's Market's offerings. All vegiterian. Some vegan offerings. The food was served family style--meant to be shared. Decor is minimal--clean, contemprary, sparse.

Gemelli's - It's an Italian restaurant on Sixth right at Laurel. There is a Gemelli's Pizza shop on Laurel. Just go around the corner and you'll see the restaurant.
Napa Valley Grille - It's at the top of Horton Plaza which is downtown.
