Carne Asada Burritos...
Is this just a san diego thing? Do you like them? where's your fav. place to get them?

personally i'm not a big red meat eater, so they're not my fave (i prefer fish tacos), but my DH's favorite carne asada spot is Casa Machado. their carnitas rocks too!!
i never had, nor heard of, carne asada before i moved here from Denver. i'd never heard of rolled tacos either and that quickly became one of my favorite foods!!!
I think it's a San Diego thing-I never heard of them until I moved down here from NorCal! My friends swear by Albertaco's (a chain, all over SD).
My favorite place to get Carne Asada to grill at home is Iowa Meat Farms off Mission Gorge-mmm...making me hungry!

It isn't a San Diego thing. We used to eat them in Los Angeles and surrounding areas, as did my dad growing up. Southern CA thing probably.
There are so many hole-in-the-wall Mexican food places that it's hard to give directions or names of favorites.

We love Santana's! The California Burrito is a fave of my DH. It is a carne asada burrito with potato and you need to use the brownish red sauce that they give you...Oh so yummy!
There are a few Santana's one on Washington in Hillcrest, one off of Sports Arena and another off of Rosecrans.

And of course Santana's is DA BOMB. But they only take cash.....
Not speaking of carne asada burritos... but mexican in general... the ABSOLUTE BEST mexican food in San Diego is at RANCHO's. There is a Ranchos on Sunset Cliff's in OB and one on 34th or is it 35th in North Park. By far the best in town!
