Another adventure at the Yale Rep (longish)

DH and I have season tickets through the Yale Reperatory Theatre.  This season, I used some of the tickets going to see a play with a couple of fellow nesties.  In that play, it was um....full frontal male nudity, and someone who bit someone's tongue out and spit it out on the stage.  Nice eh?  Yeah, no matter how hard we tried, it wasn't easy rinsing our brain of that ridiculous performance.

So tonight we opted for Oscar Wilde's "Woman of No Importance."  We figured that has to be pretty straight forward and we wouldn't feel embarrassed to have sat through the play.  Well all was well until late in the second act when one of the actors collapsed.  He kind of played the role of a drunken priest (so we thought) so we thought it was part of the play.  Until.....

1.  One of the actors rushed across the stage with no attempt to face the audience.

2.  The guy collapsed.

3.  Everyone froze, and there was an announcement that Mr. Rigby wasn't feeling well.

4.  They pulled him off stage and all the women stayed on stage trying to make polite chatter with the audience.....

5.  The ambulance came to get him (we heard the sirens).

I swear I can't have a Yale Rep experience without drama.  Oh, did I mention one of the lead actresses looked exactly like Mikes1Girl?  It was unmistakenly her!!

Sigh.....and we have one more play this season, what shall it bring?
