New Book

I don't know if there are any Jennifer Weiner fans on this board, but I love her--I've read all her books.  Anyways, I stopped at the mall after work today to get some black maternity pants, which I didn't get, and I saw this new book as I walked past Borders.  It's called Certain Girls and from the flap I read, it is a sort of sequel to Good in Bed, you know, with the character, Cannie.  I'm excited to read it.  Now I just have to finish the pregnancy book I'm currently reading, so that I can start this one (and Sophie Kinsella's new book that I bought weeks and weeks ago and still haven't read!)  Thank goodness spring break is only a week away!

Anyone else a Jennifer Weiner fan??

Re: New Book

  • I just put a hold on it at the library!!  Love her!

    How was the Sheperd's Pie?

  • Oh Jess--the shepard's pie was great for lunch, I loved it!  I'm even thinking about having it for dinner tonight since DH is at a stag and I'm not going to make a meal just for myself.  I'll certainly be making that recipe again!

  • Glad you liked it!!  It's my favorite comfort food (unless I can get to the Corner Pug for Mac and Cheese of course).
  • I'm a big JW fan.  I have it but I have a couple things I want to read first (though I've already read SK's newest, it was good!)
  • OMG Jess, I think we have the same stomachs!!  I love the mac & cheese from the Corner Pug!!  I'd love to get my hands on that recipe!  Soooo good!

Kate, glad to hear you liked Kinsella's new book, I can't wait to read that one too, not sure which I'll read first!

  • If you guys are into memoirs, I just started a book today that's already got me hooked.  It's called "Girlbomb: a Halfway Homeless Memoir" by Janice Erlbaum.  It's about her struggles with homelessness and drug addiction as a teenager in NYC.  I actually came across her on the disboards believe it or not.  Her siggy mentioned her 2 books so I decided to check them out.  The next one is about her returning (as an adult) to the shelter she lived in and her relationship (I think as a mentor) with a girl living there.
  • Oh, and Jen, I don't want the recipe, then I wouldn't have an excuse to go there!!
  • oh that sounds interesting--i'll have to look into that book.
  • Yes!!!

I forgot that it came out.  I will have to go get it!  I love her books.

The new Sophie Kinsella book is good, although I really didn't like the ending.  It is a quick read.

  • I am reading Certain Girls right now, it is good so for. I have read most of her books she is a good author.
